If you were at the BARTOX BOOTCAMP you know this is a HEATER!!

I was expecting a notice for a court date in the mail to contest a $385 noise complaint ticket I was issued after the Bartox Bootcamp . I was told I’d get a notice in the mail within 4-6 weeks… that was in September. Come December I still hadn’t received anything.  I didn’t want to become liable for the ticket for not showing up in court or having it come back to haunt me in the future somehow so I took the pro-active approach and called the Provincial Offences Office (phone number that is on the ticket) to find out the status of the ticket. I spoke with a surprisingly friendly lady on the phone and gave her the ticket number. To both our surprise she said the is no such ticket number on file. Then to be sure, she ran my driver’s license to see if there were any outstanding tickets associated with that, again, it came up clean! She said the By-Law Officer’s are required to submit their tickets within a certain time frame and, while not very common, in some cases the tickets never get submitted or are submitted late for various reasons and become void. She doubled checked  her data base once more to be sure then told me that it appears I’m off the hook… Knock on wood…lol. HEATERRRRR!!!

When people look like Animals!! Some people will say that you always tend to look like your pet, but there’s the odd individual who actually looks exactly like an animal. My Nan always says everybody looks like something…….this guy…..happens to look and act like a Donkey…..HEATER!!

Being part of the best Hockey Nation of all time and blowing a 3rd period 3 goal lead  vs. the Russians to lose in the Gold Medal game of the World Junior Hockey Championship after losing the previous year to the Yanks in a shootout!!COOLER!!

That point when you know all the words to the newest hot song before it becomes played out!! You hear that beat you recognize and the drumline that all the kids are talking about and then realize it's THAT song...the one that's in all the clubs and on all the tv shows, and since you have your ear to the speaker you know all the words and can scream along as you drive! HEATER!!

COOLER!!

Trying to remember to write the CORRECT year when writing the date for the first month of a new year!! Literally every year it takes me at least 2 weeks to a month to stop writing the previous year on documents and files. It’s embarrassing, annoying and makes for a lot of cleaning up after the fact. Damn you calendar years….damn you!!

HEATER!!

Getting a bill in the mail and you some how have a credit on it!! I have a set amount that I set aside each paycheck for utilities and today I received an email stating that I apparently had a credit on my electricity bill!! HEATER!! (literally….I have electric heat, so I can put the HEATER on now….lol)

COOLER!!

Having a piping hot coffee ready to go in the morning and then having to deal with back to back to back clients and when you finally get to your first sip, it’s an Iced Cappuccino. COOLER!!

Having plans on New Years Eve and those plans ACTUALLY HAPPENING before midnight!! I have pretty much given up on New Years Eve, primarily because I have kids now, but also because I find it's the most over anticipated, over rated night of the year. People talk about it for weeks before, everyone asks what you are doing but in the end everyone is still trying to find something to do that's better then what they are ALREADY doing at 10:30pm......so when you actually make plans in advance, tell everyone and then at 10:30pm they're calling YOU and everyone wants to be at YOUR party or at whatever location YOU ARE AT...that's the end of year HEATER!! See you next year!!

Trying to send a text message or make a phone call at 12:00 Midnight New Year's Eve!! Try it tonight. Not going to happen. Busy signal. Busy signal. No service available. No service available. Busy Signal. Busy Signal. No service available. No service available. Just save yourself the time and effort and wait until you're a) sober and b) able to wish your parents, best friend who decided to change their plans last minute or ex who you were drunk dialing without slurring your words. COOLER!!

Long weekends!!! I just realized that since New Years Day falls on a Saturday this year, I will be getting this Monday off which will make for a second LONG weekend in a row! I love it. It’s always nicer when you can wake up when you want, eat when you want, and do anything you like for a day without being on the corporate clock and being told when and how to do things!! HEATER!!

COOLER!!

Not being able to fall asleep in bed!! It doesn't happen often as I'm usually in a coma after a long day at work and at home, but the odd time like last night I was completely unable to fall asleep. I tried watching TV, getting up for a stroll around the house, getting a glass of water, counting sheep, even caught a cold (long story) and still was unable to kick the awake bug!! AND just found out two of my colleagues have the FLU. Looks like it's me against the world today! COOLER!!

Going shopping on Boxing Day and getting the parking spot closest to the door!! I was cruising into the local mall the other day and realized that finding a parking spot was going to be more of a burden then I orginally anticipated. As I turn into the lot I see a couple walking from the door and I begin to stalk them to their car. As they get closer to their car, my heart starts to race and I realize that their car is the one parked RIGHT beside the Handi parking!! HEATER!!

Cleaning up Christmas decorations!! Every year once the big day has come I put off cleaning up the decorations and primarily the tree for as long as humanly possible!! I went as far as to take down my tree but keep it in the dining room because I was THAT lazy. Hate cleaning, hate Christmas being over and hate having to start all over again in 11 months!! COOLER!!

I AM TAKING TODAY OFF SINCE NO ONE IS WORKING EXCEPT ME ANYWAYS!! HAHA

Realizing it’s a pay week when you genuinely thought it wasn’t!! It is a very rare occurrence but the odd time, believe or not, I actually have enough money in my account that I’m not counting down the days to pay day. On these one offs, I tend to forget it’s pay week until a colleague who is tight comes in, slugs down in my office and let’s out a “thank god tomorrow’s pay day’ to which you respond “IS IT?!!” and then you look like a giant ass acting like you had no idea. Here’s to all the pay days that creep up on us without us knowing!! HEATER!!

Finding out your friend is re-gifting the present you got them!! Christmas as stated yesterday is a time to share with loved ones and surprise people with gifts they aren’t expecting. What it ISN’T is a time to punch people in the kidney’s with lies and deception and using the hard thought out gift someone has bought you to offer to someone else in your life and getting the praise yourself…….but I’m not bitter!! Merry Christmas!! 2 days left!!
